East Coast Game Conference Kicks Off With Major Announcement

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 19, 2016) - This year’s East Coast Game Conference kicked off with an exciting new opportunity for gamers! Today Wake Tech President Dr. Stephen C. Scott and Dr. Brian C. Ralph, President of William Peace University, signed a ground-breaking agreement that will allow students to transfer and pursue a bachelor’s degree in Simulation and Game Design (SGD). The agreement makes it possible for graduates of Wake Tech’s associate’s degree program in SGC to continue their studies at William Peace.

The agreement guarantees admission to William Peace University for Wake Tech grads and allows them to transfer between 55 and 70 credit hours toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Simulation and Game Design.

“We are thrilled about the opportunity to work with William Peace University,” said Dr. Scott, “and about this exciting partnership! It opens doors to even greater employment and career opportunities for students in this popular and still-growing field.”

“Wake Tech graduates have enjoyed unbelievable success in simulation and gaming, and we’re really excited to be a potential ending spot for students who are looking to continue their pathway forward,” said Dr. Ralph.

The signing ceremony took place at the start of the 2016 East Coast Game Conference in downtown Raleigh.

Wake Tech has one of the most successful Simulation and Game Development programs in the region. It includes a/v technology, modeling, animation, design and programming. This transfer program is the latest in a series of partnerships between Wake Tech and public and private four-year institutions. It enhances the North Carolina Community College System's comprehensive articulation agreement.
