RALEIGH, N.C. (June 6, 2017) - Wake Technical Community College has named a new executive director of Corporate & Business Solutions. Barbara Brothers, a former VP in Charlotte, NC, will lead the department in developing customized training programs to match corporate clients’ unique needs. In addition to customized training, Brothers will oversee Wake Tech’s Small Business Center, the Wake Tech/Wells Fargo Center for Entrepreneurship, the Advanced Manufacturing Center, and apprenticeship training and professional development programs at the college.

Before joining Wake Tech, Brothers was vice president of campus admissions at Universal Technical Institute in Charlotte, NC, which includes the NASCAR Technical Institute and the Motorcycle Mechanics and Marine Mechanics institutes. “We’re thrilled to have Barbara at the helm of corporate training,” says Anthony Caison, Vice President of Workforce Continuing Education at Wake Tech. “She is an innovative problem solver with a drive for helping those around her find success. She will drive our efforts to provide Wake County businesses with the resources they need to thrive.”

Wake Tech Corporate & Business Solutions promotes economic growth and job creation in Wake County through educational partnerships with business and industry. The department’s focus is on developing training programs that are personalized for any industry and that can range from project-based critical thinking skills to highly-technical software training and career advancement skills.
