Job Fair Draws a Crowd

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 26, 2023) – More than 475 career-seekers attended Wake Tech's Job Fair Tuesday at the Southern Wake Campus.

Potential candidates had the opportunity to meet hiring managers, ask questions and discuss vacant positions. Many applied for jobs and left behind resumes, while some even took part in initial interviews at the event.

The college is seeking part-time and full-time faculty in numerous high-demand career fields such as IT, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, business, engineering, science and math, transportation, public safety and construction and maintenance, as well as adult basic education, high school equivalency and English as a Second Language (ESL) instructors.

Wake Tech is also recruiting for staff positions in a variety of departments, including Financial Aid, Academic Advising, accessibility support and Facilities.

Dr. Singh Indu attended the event and said she enjoyed networking face-to-face with IT representatives and learning about a range of open faculty and staff positions at the state's largest community college.

"This was a fantastic event," she said. "It was great to meet and have conversations with the hiring representatives here today, so now I have a direct contact person with the jobs I've applied for. Wake Tech did a fantastic job in organizing this."

Rhonda Long said she was excited to learn more about teaching opportunities.

"I"m here to explore opportunities with Wake Tech to leverage my experience in the business administration field," Long said. "I've worked in training and education for the majority of my career, and I'm looking to transfer my skills at the college level."
