Students Earn Top Honors at Math Competition
RALEIGH, N.C. (November 16, 2022) – Wake Tech students earned top honors at the annual North Carolina Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges competition, held at Johnston Community College on November 12.
Caleb Beach, Sivanaga "Charles" Beard, Tyler Johnson, Michael Pacheco-Luciano, Andrew Rucker and Ryan Waterbury earned first-place overall, with the top team score in the afternoon pre-calculus rounds.
Andrew Rucker also earned first place and Tyler Johnson second place in the individual calculus exam.
Special thanks go to faculty members Tom Aydlett, Austin Jones, Seth McElvaney and Tricia Van Brunt for mentoring the students.
