SAT Exam Prep

Register now for the SAT exam prep course, featuring in-person and small-group instruction from experienced faculty. Learn test-taking strategies, review content and receive personalized feedback in a small classroom setting. This class is intended for ages 16 or older.

Course Objectives

Learn test-taking strategies to prepare to boost a chance for a higher test score

Outline of Instruction

Discuss scores, target scores and major focus, take an untimed practice test (subject specific), use "Circle First" strategy, encourage students to skip and come back, review correct answer choices, identify the cause of wrong answers, overview of a subject-specific test (time limit overall and per question, types of questions, format of questions/answers, general strategies for testing, such as Circle First and Consistent-C), take a timed practice test, review answers, go over mistakes (time permitting)

Review homework practice test, go over questions students don't understand, introduce online resources and explain how to get to them and how to use them for study (https://www.englishgrammar.org/, https://www.khanacademy.org/, https://www.mathplanet.com/, https://blog.prepscholar.com/the-only-actual-science-you-have-to-know-f…), take an untimed practice test , skill or test-specific instruction, take a timed practice test, review answer choices and work in groups to figure out correct answers for missed questions, go over questions groups cannot figure out (model using a website like one listed above)
