Introduction to Korean Part II

Take your Korean language skill to the next level with this second in the Introduction to Korean series. Interesting and engaging lessons give you the tools you need to improve your ability to read, write, speak, and listen. Learn specific language functions through dialogues and classroom instruction. Practical topics prepare students for communication in a wide variety of situations for business, personal enrichment, and travel.

Course Objectives

acquire vocabulary and grammar applicable to a wide variety of communicative settings.

make use of their understanding of the Korean alphabet to read short passages.

demonstrate a basic understanding of Korean culture as it pertains to the social settings in each of the lessons.


Outline of instruction

Personal information: describe self in detail

Numbers: Time, Calendar (cardinal and ordinal numbers)

Answer the phone

Weather vocabulary

Make a request

Discuss daily activities

Shop at a grocery store or mall

Order food by phone

Express feelings and emotions

Speak to a doctor and describe basic symptoms

This course is designed for students pursuing a greater depth of knowledge and understanding of the Korean language and Korean culture. This is the second in the Introduction to Korean series, so there is an expectation that students enrolled in this class have already learned the Korean alphabet and basic self-introduction phrases.
