Deaf Sensitivity Training: "I Never Gave That a Thought"

This course helps public safety personnel - police, sheriffs, firefighters, corrections personnel, EMTs, and healthcare security personnel - build a better understanding of the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. The course focuses on the daily linguistic challenges this often misunderstood and ignored population faces, and how to live and work with them in a supportive, harmonious way.

Course Objectives

Understand the Deaf and Hard of Hearing(DHH) community.

Learn how to assist members of the public who are afflicted with a speech and/or any level of hearing loss.

Develop linguistic skills that are daily challenges of deaf and Hearing impaired community.

Discuss cultural differences among people who are deaf and/or hard of hearing
