HVAC Apprenticeship Level 3

This course continues with instruction for working as an Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician at new construction sites and on remodeling and renovation projects. HVAC Apprenticeship Level 3 is the third course in the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum for HVAC Apprenticeship.

Course Objectives

have an understanding of the various fasteners, hardware and wiring terminations used in the HVAC trade,

understand control circuits and how to troubleshoot electrical motors,

know how to troubleshoot cooling systems, heat pumps, gas and oil heating systems, and system accessories,

understand the types of Refrigerant Flow Systems including zoned systems, ductless systems, and variable flow systems,

develop a knowledge of Commercial Hydronic Systems, Steam Systems, and Retail Refrigeration Systems, their functions and uses, and

develop customer relations skills, understand their importance in business, and be able to demonstrate them.

Certification

Students who successfully complete the requirements for this course will be eligible to receive certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research and will receive credit for completion of the third year of Apprenticeship Trng.

Requirements for Successful Completion

80% attendance
Successfully complete all module exams with a minimum score of 70%,Successfully complete all hands-on assessments
