New Vice President of Finance and Business Services Joins Leadership Team

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 6, 2017) - Wake Tech has added another female executive to the college’s leadership team. Marla Tart, a licensed CPA, has been named Vice President of Finance and Business Services. In her new role, Tart will prepare and manage the college’s budget and ensure efficient use of college funds.

She will also serve as liaison with outside agencies such as the North Carolina Community College System Office, Office of the State Controller, Office of the State Auditor and the Wake County Budget Office.

“One of my goals is to continue to the same level of excellent financial reporting and responsible budget management that Wake Tech has consistently maintained for many years,” says Tart. “I am excited about this new opportunity and responsibility.”

Since joining Wake Tech in 1998, Tart has held several leadership positions, including Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, Chief Accounting Officer, and Associate Vice President of Financial Services. Prior to Wake Tech, Tart worked for the NC Department of Public Instruction.

Tart holds an Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Accounting from Wake Tech. She lives in Coats with her husband and two children.
