In preparation for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day national holiday, Student Activities is hosting a special Voter Education and Civic Engagement event to highlight Rev. King's pivotal work in getting the Voting Rights Act of 1965 passed by bringing national attention to the disenfranchisement of African Americans and other voters of color. Students are encouraged to bring their Wake Tech student ID cards to this event.

During the event, Wake Tech students will be able to do the following:

In addition to voting, Wake Tech students will have the opportunity to hear from civic groups, learn more about what they do, and find ways to actively serve their communities.
