This course is a continuation of Part 1, teaching individuals how to provide professional communication in healthcare setting, follow HIPPA guidelines, understand medical laws and ethics, and practice the fundamentals of Phlebotomy in preparation for the 40-hour clinical externship.

Course Objectives

Demonstrate knowledge of collection equipment, various types of additives used, special precautions necessary, and substances that can interfere in clinical analysis of blood constituents.

Summarize Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations for the health care industry.

Summarize HIPAA documentation and training.
