This class is a topic of choice as mandated by the NC Department of Justice, Training and Standards Commission. It discusses indicators of gang activity and dangers to law enforcement; NC drug trends and hazards to law enforcement; anti-government, criminal, and extremists groups; purpose and goals of law enforcement information collection and resource sharing; and fraudulent document trends and security features found on common identification documents.

Course Objectives

Identify indicators of gang activity and recognize their dangers to law enforcement.

Analyze current North Carolina drug trends and identify potential hazards to law enforcement.

Differentiate between various types of anti-government, criminal, and extremist groups present in North Carolina and the activity within your jurisdiction.

Identify current fraudulent document trends and recognize current security features found on common identification documents.

Identify the purpose and goals of law enforcement information collection and sharing resources available.
