Describe the alignment angles on a vehicle
Diagnose steering and tire wear concerns caused by basic alignment issues
Perform a pre-alignment inspection to identify condition of wear items
Measure the alignment angles on a vehicle
Make basic adjustments and identify additional needs
Students will obtain a Hunter equipment certificate
Alignment Angles (Toe, caster, camber, thrust line, SAI, toe-out on turns and scrub radius)
Determine Possible Adjustments (Research manufacturers' adjustment procedures and research after-market adjustment components and kits)
Diagnosing Symptoms (How alignment affects steering wheel centering, pulls, drifts and tire wear, and eliminate other possibilities such as brakes or mismatched tires)
Perform Pre-Alignment Inspection (Identify faulty steering and suspension linkages and bushings, describe the importance of tire pressure and check and adjust, and check for collision damage or faulty previous repairs)
Use Computerized Wheel Aligners (Properly set up equipment, perform an alignment check and evaluate measurements, and make adjustments and verify repair)
