HVAC Apprenticeship Level 4

This course consists of the fourth and final year of instruction for working as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician at new construction sites and on remodeling and renovation projects. HVAC Apprenticeship Level 4 is the fourth course in the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum for HVAC Apprenticeship.

Course Objectives

have an understanding of Water Treatment systems, Building Management systems, and Energy Conservation equipment and how they work in HVAC systems,

understand Indoor Air Quality Requirements and how they are affected by HVAC systems,

demonstrate an understanding of Heating and Cooling System Design and the ability to understand Construction Drawings and Specifications,

have an understanding of Alternative and Specialized Heating and Cooling Systems,

know how to safely start up and shut down HVAC systems and ensure the systems are balanced

understand Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Systems, and

develop basic skills in Crew Leadership.

Certification

Students who successfully complete the requirements for this course will be eligible to receive certification from the NCCER and will receive credit for completion of the fourth year of Apprenticeship Training.

Requirements for Successful Completion

80% attendance
Successfully complete all module exams with a minimum score of 70%,Successfully complete all hands-on assessments
