HVAC Apprenticeship Level 2

This course continues with instruction for working as Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technicians at new construction sites and on remodeling and renovation projects. HVAC Apprenticeship Level 2 is the second course in the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum for HVAC Apprenticeship.

Course Objectives

learn new skills required of a Second Year HVAC Apprentice. Students will develop new knowledge, skills, and abilities related to use of alternating current; compressors; refrigerants and oils; refrigerant leak detection, evacuation, recovery, and charging; metering devices; heat pumps; basic maintenance; chimneys, vents, and flues; sheet metal duct systems; fiberglass and flexible duct systems; commercial airside systems; air quality equipment; and an introduction to hydronic systems.
