Course Offerings

This is the first part of a two-part course series designed to help individuals build a career in networking and prepare for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) 200-301 certification. The course covers essential networking concepts, including an introduction to TCP/IP networking, Ethernet LAN fundamentals and WANs with IP routing. Students gain experience in configuring and managing Ethernet LANs, utilizing the command-line interface and analyzing Ethernet LAN switching. Topics also include implementing VLANs, understanding Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and designing and troubleshooting IPv4 addressing and routing. Students learn to operate Cisco routers, configure static routes and troubleshoot IPv4 routing issues. Additionally, the course covers the fundamentals of OSPF and IPv6 addressing, preparing students to work with modern network technologies.

By the end of this course, learners have a foundation in networking principles and will be prepared to continue with the second part of the series, advancing their skills and preparing for the CCNA certification exam.

Explain the OSI and TCP/IP models

Explain how protocols enable and support network connectivity and communication

Apply IPv4 and IPv6 addressing and subnetting to real-world networking scenarios

Configure settings on a switch, router and end-user devices

Diagnose and resolve networking issues, including routing and IP addressing problems

Explain how routers use information in packets to make forwarding decisions

Implement security best practices on switches and routers

Verify and troubleshoot connectivity in a small network

Explain, configure, implement and troubleshoot VLANs

Explain and configure redundancy on a switched network using STP and EtherChannel
