All Wake Tech campuses are closed Saturday, January 31, 2026, due to inclement weather. Students taking in-person classes should check with their instructors for more information. Online classes will continue as scheduled. Many Wake Tech services, including Admissions and Academic Advising, are available virtually at virtualsupport.waketech.edu. Wake Tech employees who can work remotely should do so.
The Student Government Association (SGA) is the campus organization that represents the interests of all Wake Tech students and serves as a liaison between the faculty and administration and students.
All Wake Tech students are cordially invited – and strongly encouraged – to get involved with the SGA. Each curriculum student is required to pay the Student Activities Fee and is, therefore, a member of the SGA and governed by its rules and regulations.
"The Wake Tech Student Government Association is dedicated to building a vibrant, inclusive and united campus community where every student feels valued, supported and heard. Our focus is empowering all students by creating opportunities for personal growth, networking, student connection and success throughout their college journey. Through these efforts, we aim to enhance the overall college experience for everyone at Wake Tech."
SGA General Business Meetings are held at 2 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month (August through November and January through April), unless a holiday falls on that day. All SGA senators and Executive Board members attend the meetings, as do club representatives and students. It's a great place to let your voice be heard.
Meetings are conducted online via Microsoft Teams, and students also can attend at either of these locations:
Southern Wake Campus
Montague Hall (Building M), Room 343
Scott Northern Wake Campus
Building D, Room 401
Hey, students! I'm Daniela-Amor Rebong – I go by "Dani" – and I'm honored to serve as your SGA president this school year, 2025-26. As a second-year international Mechanical Engineering Technology student originally from the Philippines, Wake Tech has given me so much: a place to learn and a place to grow using the resources that are available for all Wake Tech students. I am dedicated to giving back to the community that has given me so much.
My goal is to provide support and guidance to every student and make accessing resources easy through SGA. I'm passionate about engineering, leadership and making sure that every student's voice is heard. So, as your SGA president, I'm dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive campus community by advocating for student needs, collaborating with campus faculty and staff and leading projects that makes Wake Tech a better place for us all.
My name is Justin Gonzalez-Padilla, and I'm honored to serve as your Student Government Association vice president for the 2025–26 school year.
This is my second year at Wake Tech, where I'm pursuing Associate in Engineering and Associate in Science degrees. My goal is to transfer to a four-year university and major in Civil Engineering. Outside of class, I enjoy playing soccer, playing video games, listening to music, learning new things and exploring art and business.
As your vice president, my goal is to make sure every student gets the most out of Wake Tech. I'm committed to creating opportunities for student involvement, voicing your concerns and helping build a stronger, more connected community. I'm excited to support you, so don't hesitate to reach out, whether by email or in person!
Hello, everyone! My name is Sanai McCoy, and I will be serving as the SGA secretary for the 2025-26 school year.
I was born and raised in Norwalk, Conn., and I moved to North Carolina in October 2023. I graduated from East Wake High School and decided to continue my education at Wake Tech. I am currently working to attain an Associate in Arts degree; however, that is subject to change, as I am actively using Wake Tech's Career Services office to decide which career field and major will fit me best.
Aside from school, I love connecting with people, going on walks while listening to music and trying out new food spots and fun activities with friends.
I am truly grateful for this opportunity. One of my greatest personal values is building meaningful connections, and through this role, I aim to connect with the students of Wake Tech.
As we navigate our college journey together, I believe it is very important that we support one another not just academically but personally. By staying connected, we can create a stronger and more uplifting community where we are there for each other in times of need.
Hi all! My name is Ariana Santana, and I am very excited to serve as Treasurer for the 2025–26 academic year!
My family and I are originally from the Bronx, New York, and I now attend Wake Tech as an Associate in Science student on the pre-dental track. I plan to transfer to a four-year university and continue working toward my goal of becoming a health professional.
Outside of academics, I enjoy doing Bible studies, spending time with my family, reading science fiction and painting. On campus, I am involved in several organizations, including the Wake Tech Pre-Dental Student Association, the Microbiology Club, the Pathology Club, the Gardening Club, Voice Acting & Animation Production Club and Christian Connect.
I also work as a student library assistant in the Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC), serve as a peer tutor for biology and volunteer through Students Supporting Students to help address food insecurity. In addition, I volunteer at Duke Hospital, where I help provide education and support to patients managing diabetes.
I love connecting with other students and committing my time to serving others. I look forward to working closely with fellow board members and students to ensure resources are used effectively and equitably. I am grateful for this opportunity and excited to support our campus community throughout the year!
Hi, Eagles! I'm Milena Alvarez, and I will be serving as the Public Information Officer for the 2025-26 academic year.
I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but moved to Raleigh about six years ago. My Wake Tech journey started in Fall 2022, pursuing an Associate in Applied Science degree in Architectural Technology. Once I complete my degree in Spring 2026 and my Associate in Arts degree in Fall 2026, I plan on transferring to North Carolina State University to get my bachelor's degree in environmental design in architecture.
Apart from serving in this role for a second consecutive year, I am also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society and the International Friends Club. In my free time, I like to paint, watch movies, and hang out with friends.
This school year, I plan on making changes for the better. There are a lot of ideas my teammates and I have, and we not only want to see Wake Tech grow but also have better communication with our students, who are eager to be heard. Thank you for the opportunity, and I can't wait to hear your voices!
"Being part of SGA has been the greatest part of my academic journey."
