Course Offerings

This course will enable participants to locate, identify, preserve, and evaluate evidence found at the scene of traffic crashes. The course builds on training participants have already received to bring them up to the level of the At-Scene Traffic Crash Investigation class.

Course Objectives

Validate crash investigation training that students received during basic law enforcement training.

Interpret crash scene evidence from roadways and vehicles.

Be able to document evidence using field sketches, measuring methods, data sheets, and photographs.

Enhance the students' basic level of vehicle crash investigation by performing a variety of mathematical formulas that are designed to corroborate their estimates, including: Speed, Velocity, Time, Distance.
