Computed Tomography Certificate

Wake Tech Course ID: C45200

The Computed Tomography Certificate prepares students to use specialized equipment to visualize cross-sectional anatomical structures and help physicians identify diseases and abnormalities.

Individuals entering the program must be registered or registry-eligible radiologic technologists, radiation therapists or nuclear medicine technologists.

Course work prepares the student to provide patient care and perform studies using imaging equipment in scheduled and emergency procedures:

  • Documenting and specifying scan sequences
  • Adjusting contrast to improve picture quality
  • Monitoring radiation safety measures and patient conditions

Students also will learn through academic and clinical studies how to communicate professionally with patients, their families and physicians.
