IBM/Wake Tech Blockchain Badges

Computer Technologies students enrolled in CSC-289 or future Digital Ledger Technologies courses have the opportunity to earn co-developed IBM and Wake Tech digital badges demonstrating their level of proficiency in Blockchain Technologies.

Badge Requirements
Blockchain Ready
Must be a student attending Wake Technical Community College and enrolled in the appropriate distributed ledger technology course.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Javascript.
     
  • Demonstrate proficiency in HTML/CSS.
     
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the application of basic Linux commands.
     
  • Correctly define terminology and infrastructure related to blockchain applications.
     
  • Accurately articulate the history, benefits, and challenges of distributed ledger technologies.
     
  • Successfully install and setup of the Blockchain development environment on a local computer.
Blockchain Builder
  • Must be a student attending Wake Technical Community College and enrolled in the appropriate distributed ledger technology course.
  • Successfully completed the IBM developed Zero-To-Blockchain educational series as part of a Blockchain/Distributed Ledger Technology course.
Blockchain Developer
  • Must be a student attending Wake Technical Community College and enrolled in the appropriate distributed ledger technology course.
     
  • Write a business case that uses distributed ledger technologies to address a client’s need.
     
  • Develop a functional and user-friendly blockchain application that addresses a client’s need.
     
  • Present the developed blockchain application to the client.
