RALEIGH, N.C. (April 7, 2015) - Video game enthusiasts dreaming of careers in game development heard from successful Wake Tech graduates who have made similar dreams come true. Their success stories were part of a panel discussion that Wake Tech hosted at the East Coast Game Conference at the Raleigh Convention Center on April 7. Wake Tech is one of the main organizers of the three-day conference. It’s the largest gathering of video game professionals on the East Coast, with sessions led by industry experts and opportunities for networking and collaboration.
The East Coast Game Conference began with Community Day, which offered a glimpse of education and employment opportunities in the industry for students, educators, and anyone interested in game development. The Wake Tech graduates shared their experiences and talked about the skills needed for success in the field. Wake Tech has one of the most successful Simulation and Development programs in the region. It includes a/v technology, modeling, animation, design and programming. Graduates are employed as designers, testers, animators, programmers and administrators. Many have had their games published and sold.
