Wake Tech resumes normal operations on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. Campuses reopen at 8 a.m., and most classes are held as scheduled.
Building H on Scott Northern Wake Campus is without power and will remain closed until power is restored. Students with classes in Building H should check with their instructors for more information.
The Early Childhood Education Non-Licensure AAS Degree prepares students to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree.
The curriculum provides students with a solid foundation in early childhood education to work in careers such as special education/early intervention, child life specialist, parent educator, child care consultant and many more.
Students gain both theoretical and practical knowledge in areas such as child development, child guidance, health and safety, nutrition and family engagement. This knowledge is reinforced through direct experience with young children in real-world settings under the supervision of qualified teachers.
