The Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Certificate provides a deeper look at the emotional and social development of young children.
Students also learn the varied causes, expressions, prevention methods and management strategies of challenging behaviors.
The certificate helps early childhood educators navigate through classroom environments, guidance strategies and resources for responsive activities that may help children in their classroom who struggle with mental health. This could also be beneficial for students who plan to go into early intervention or counseling or become a behavior specialist, a child life specialist or a technical assistant in early childhood classrooms.
