Students Invited to Apply for Unique Internship
RALEIGH, N.C. (May 28, 2025) – Wake Tech is excited to share a new paid internship opportunity for three selected students this fall.
The college is partnering with Activate Good, a local nonprofit, on the unique internship. Activate Good connects people to volunteer and service opportunities at more than 600 community organizations with needs in the Triangle region. Selected interns will work with staff on a number of community projects.
"Activate Good's partnership with Wake Tech offers students a transformative hands-on experience that goes beyond the classroom," said Bria King, assistant director of Student Leadership and the Student Government Association at Wake Tech. "Interns gain valuable experience by supporting real projects, shadowing nonprofit professionals and leading key initiatives. This is a wonderful opportunity for Wake Tech students who are passionate about volunteerism to give back to their community."
Students selected as interns will have a project, event or program leadership focus. Interns may shadow staff and support programming and projects in a variety of ways, including planning, outreach, direct management of volunteers, project setup and other outreach/engagement activities.
Internship projects may include work in the following areas:
- Youth programming: Activate Kids (ages 5 to 10), as well as Youth Volunteer Corps and Youth Advisory Board (ages 11-18)
- The eLOVEate Schools Project and Custom Corporate Projects
- Triangle Businesses for Good and Custom Corporate Projects
Interns will work up to 115 hours over the course of the semester and will participate in fall days of service, including the 9/11 Day of Service and Family Volunteer Day on November 22.
Interested students should apply by June 8 for priority consideration. They must be enrolled at Wake Tech in the Fall semester and have excellent communication and technology skills. Visit Activate Good for more information and to apply.
