Sewing: All About Patterns

Sewing patterns can be confusing. In this course students learn how to use and understand the process of patterns. There is a tour of the outside envelope, and then learn about the terminology and diagrams for each pattern piece and how to read the supply list. Learn all that is needed to complete the pattern project from diagrams to instructions.

Course Objectives

Learn how to read and understand patterns, the terminology and general techniques used in sewing projects

Learn about patterns provided by instructor, or students may bring their own


Outline of Instruction

Study and review the outside of the envelope for the supply lists

Study the instructions on the inside of pattern

Basic terminology will be explained and some techniques

Learn about the different shapes of pattern pieces
