All Wake Tech campuses remain closed Tuesday, February 3, 2026, due to slick road conditions. Students taking in-person classes should check with their instructors for more information. Wake Tech employees who can work remotely should do so.
The Electrical Systems Technology Diploma provides training for individuals interested in installing and maintaining electrical systems in residential, commercial and industrial facilities.
Training, most of which is hands-on, includes such topics as AC/DC theory, basic wiring practices, programmable logic controllers, industrial motor controls, the National Electrical Code and other subjects as local needs require.
Diploma graduates should qualify for a variety of jobs as a trainee or apprentice assisting in the layout, installation and maintenance of electrical or electronic systems.
