This course is intended for the general public.
Description
Video is one of the most exciting ways to tell a story, grow a business, and share your experiences with others. This course will teach you the basics of using your smartphone as a video camera. By the end of the course, you'll know the techniques and will have completed a video about your business.
Course Objectives
  1. have learned best practices and tips for shooting video with your phone.
  2. have learned the techniques of shooting and lighting.
  3. have learned the techniques of sound along with gear recommendations.
Outline of Instruction
  1. Camera settings: where the lenses are, front vs rear, internal settings.
  2. Types of video and shooting styles: vertical, horizontal, set, vlog-like movement, pros, and cons.
  3. Audio: examining internal vs external audio and tips on getting the best audio.
  4. Lighting: types of lighting, impact environment/settings will have on it.
  5. Recording: how to frame, timer, zooming, basics of what’s on the screen.
  6. Editing: editing and exporting videos from your smartphone.
  7. Gear: look at additional things like apps and gear and how they can enhance production.
  8. Video Concept: work on a short video for the final lesson
  9. Review: touch on each lesson including tips to remember and use for the final project.
  10. FINAL PRESENTATION: each student will present their final video.

Hardware Requirements:

This course can be taken on either a PC or Mac.
Software Requirements:

PC: Windows 8 or later.
Mac: OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 or later.
Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
