Description
Level 1 introduces the basics of the plumbing and pipefitting trades, including math, welding, safety, OSHA regulations, the use and care of tools, piping and associated fittings, rigging, soldering and brazing, and plumbing codes . These occupational skills are necessary for work as an apprentice in plumbing and pipefitting. Apprentices generally work in construction environments. Potential hazards include but are not limited to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and other hazards found on construction sites.
Course Objectives
  1. have an understanding of UA Heritage, Jobsite Safety, Use and Care of Tools, Trade Math, Pipe and Associated Fittings, Soldering and Brazing, Rigging, and Basics of the Plumbing Code.

  2. Participation
  3. Pass all written exams with a minimum grade of 70%
  4. Successfully complete hands on demonstrations of skills
