Wake Tech Foundation

The Wake Tech Foundation partners with private entities and individuals to raise awareness, financial resources, and other assets to support the mission of Wake Technical Community College. The Foundation is committed to preserving and enhancing the resources with which it is entrusted through accuracy, transparency, and good stewardship. It provides opportunities for the professional development of faculty and staff and supports student achievement through scholarships and other forms of assistance.

Sponsored Programs and Federal Relations

The Office of Sponsored Programs and Federal Relations develops and maintains relationships with the federal government; solicits funds in the form of grants and appropriations from foundations and from federal, state, and local governments; and administers sponsored programs and initiatives to support the financial needs of the college. Wake Tech received more than $10.99 million in grant funds in 2016-17, with 31 of its 42 submitted projects receiving funding.

2016-17 was the most successful year ever for grant awards at Wake Tech: The Office of Sponsored Programs and Federal Relations received $10.99 million in grant funds, a first in its 13-year history. Like most educational institutions, Wake Tech leverages grants to expand vital programs and services beyond the limits of operational budgets. Major grant awards came from the National Science Foundation, the Aspen Institute, the U.S. Department of Education, and the NC Community College System.

265 Wake Tech graduates who earned AA, AS, AE, and AAS degrees in 2014-15 had an overall average GPA of 3.12 after their first year (2015-16) at a UNC System institution, compared with UNC native juniors’ overall average GPA of 3.06.
