THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT REGISTRATION:
  • ESL class seats are limited and in high demand. 
  • Register at the location you plan to attend.
  • Registration is only on the posted date and start time, as seats are available.
  • Arrive early for a prompt start time, late arrivals will not be accepted.
  • English level will be assessed at registration.
  • Registration can take up to 3 hours.
  • Children are not allowed at registration or in ESL classrooms.
  • Students age 16 1/2 to 17 years of age require special paperwork. Read the Minor Policy

ESL Distance Education Class. Registration begins January 18, 2018 at 6:00pm. Please arrive on time. This online English class will help with conversation, pronunciation, digital literacy, citizenship, career awareness and workplace skills. All students must have a computer or laptop, internet, an email address and a headset with microphone. Students are required to work online 12 hours per week. Students must come to Beltline Education Center (BEC) 3200 Bush Street, Raleigh, 27609 for registration and post-testing twice a semester. ESL Citizenship Class at the Beltline Center Registration begins January 20, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. This Saturday citizenship course is designed to help non-native English speakers learn about the naturalization interview and citizenship process, as well as U.S. history and government. The class will also focus on developing English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. Students must be at an intermediate level (minimum) to take this course. We are unable to accommodate students above a 9th grade reading level but there are many resources on the U.S. government website: http://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship Placement testing is given at registration. Expanded Reading and Vocabulary

Classes are for students that have tested out of ESL, but need to increase their English literacy skills. Class instruction is centered on developing foundational reading and vocabulary skills.

ESL Citizenship Preparation Class

This class is designed for Intermediate level ESL students and higher, that are reading below a 9th grade level, to help students learn the Citizenship process.
