Nurse Aide Frequently Asked Questions
No, you do not have to be a Wake Technical Community College student to take a Nurse Aide class.
You may register online for a class or you may come in to one of the Nurse Aide Offices to register in person. Please call before coming to the campus (919-747-0120) to assure someone is available to help you.
You may have a titer (blood test) done to show proof of immunity.
There are no prerequisites but you must be at least 16 ½ years old by the first day of class.
There is no book for the Nurse Aide I class.
There is no Orientation Session but you do need to thoroughly read the Nurse Aide Syllabus which may be found on our website.
You may enroll in a Nurse Aide class up to the census (10%) date of the class as long as there is seating available.
Yes. Wake Technical Community College does offer summer Nurse Aide classes.
We offer classes year round and have new classes starting almost every month at the Scott Northern Wake Campus, Perry Health Science Campus and the Public Safety Education Campus. We offer day, evening, weekend and hybrid classes. Please look closely at every section as all of the schedules can be very different. Please go to the Wake Tech website https://www.waketech.edu/ and search for Nurse Aide.
There is no financial aid but financial assistance may be available through the Wake Tech Career Pathways & Student Resources program. Contact Keith Cox, Career Coach at 919-866-6235 or [email protected]etech.edu. If you receive financial assistance through Keith you will need to register with him.

You need to register and pay the $250 tuition, go to the CastleBranch website https://portal.castlebranch.com/WL15, choose package WM83 and pay the $112 for your criminal background check, drug test and medical documentation manager. CastleBranch will tell you where to go to submit your urine sample before class begins.
The clinical paperwork is due two weeks before your final exams. The final exams date is listed in the details of your class section. Submit copies of your Social Security Card and other official signature bearing ID to your instructor then upload the rest of your paperwork to CastleBranch as early as possible to allow time for review and acceptance.
Scrubs need to be worn only during clinical. Please dress modestly for class and lab.
