This certificate program is designed to provide classes in Management Accounting that are aligned with the content required in the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Part 1 certification. Part 1 is on Financial Reporting, Planning, Performance, and Control. This certificate maps to the CMA specifications in Part 1. Credits earned in this program may be transferred toward an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Accounting, provided the student meets the entrance requirements for the Accounting program.
The courses are standard curriculum education courses, and are not CPA exam “coaching” courses similar to those provided by various publishers.
Note: the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners may only allow 3 semester hours of credit for some courses that are designated as 4 semester hours of credit by the North Carolina Community College System.
