Visitor Information

Welcome to Wake Technical Community College!

If you are visiting campus as a potential student, please call Student Services at 919-662-3500 before your visit. Student Services can arrange for a campus tour and provide other assistance to ensure your visit is successful.

If you are visiting campus to attend an event, take an examination or participate in another activity, the links and other information below may be helpful to you.

General Information

  • In accordance with policies set by Wake County for its government facilities, no smoking is permitted within campus buildings. No weapons are permitted on college property.

  • Main Campus offers cafeteria-style, cash-payment food service during breakfast and lunch hours on weekdays whenever classes are in session. Vending machines at all campuses and sites offer a variety of snacks and light meal items. Microwave ovens are available in the vending areas.

  • Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Children are not permitted in classrooms, laboratories or other instructional areas.

  • Individuals with disabilities who need assistance to access college activities and events may contact Disability Support Services at 919-662-3405 for more information.


Parking

Parking on Wake Tech's campuses is limited, and carpooling is encouraged. On Main Campus, visitor parking is available directly in front of Holding Hall, the college's administration building. On Health Sciences Campus, visitor parking is available near the Health Education Building, where you'll find the main reception desk, student lounge and library. If all visitor parking spaces are full, visitors may park in student spaces.

Please note that employee and student vehicles are required to display parking permits when parking on campus; any car without a parking permit may be ticketed. Visitors who receive tickets while parked in student spaces may bring these to the campus reception desk (Holding Hall or the Health Education Building) to be canceled.


Accommodations

Wake Tech does not provide housing at any of its campuses or sites. Individuals or groups who need overnight accommodations should contact a local hotel directly.

The closest hotels to Main Campus are located in Fuquay-Varina (off U.S. 401, about six miles south of campus) and in Garner (off U.S. 70 near its intersection with U.S. 401, about seven miles north of campus). Hotel chains with properties in these areas include Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express. Other accommodations are available throughout Wake County, with many in the Raleigh area.
