Description
This course is customized content for Charles & Colvard. Participants will improve English fluency/pronunciation, expand vocabulary, review grammar, and practice writing. The class focuses on grammar essentials and appropriate target sounds/word stress/patterns, using practice reading and listening, games, role play, idioms of the day, and current events/cultural articles review for practice. Participants will have weekly homework assignments.

  1. Participants will improve English fluency/pronunciation, expand vocabulary, review grammar, and practice writing.
Outline of Instruction
  1. • Week one:
    • Getting to know each other:
    • Introductions and basic personal information
    • Review: be, have, and do verbs
    • Review alphabet, paying attention to pronunciation
    • Solicit students’ goals for time together
    • Week 2: Basic sentence structure (noun/ verb / main object)
    • Week 3-4: Verbs:
    o Past tense (and irregular)
    o Present tense vs present continuous
    o Future tense
    • Week 5: How to ask a question (open and closed)
    • Week 6: Count/Non-Count nouns
