Description
Assess your potential as an entrepreneur and the feasibility of your business or idea, and learn how your military experience can help. In eight three-hour sessions, you’ll learn how to develop a comprehensive business plan for your new or existing business and create a first draft. You will be guided through an examination of every element of your business, from basic description and mission statement to financials and sales forecasting. You’ll also learn about the resources available for veterans developing and operating successful businesses. Class exercises are performed online, and all course material and resources are available for download.
Course Objectives
  1. What does it take to be a successful entrepreneur.

  2. What are the elements of a good business plan and how do you write them.
  3. How to conduct market research and test the feasibility of your business or idea.
  4. How do you market and fund your business ?
  5. What resources are available specifically for veterans to help you start and run a successful business.

  6. How has your military experience made you uniquely prepared to pursue entrepreneurship.

  1. Introduction to entrepreneurship
  2. Feasibility of business & personal goals
  3. Marketing planning and target markets
  4. New entity organization, legal status, and team
  5. Startup costs and financials
  6. Pricing and cash flow
  7. Research, develop, and write comprehensive business plans (and how this is an ongoing process)
  8. Veterans resources networking and funding.
  9. How to pitch your business.
  10. Presentations to class members.
