Description
This course continues instruction for work as a Masonry Apprentice on new construction and on remodeling and renovation projects. It covers residential masonry, reinforced masonry, masonry openings and metalwork, advanced brick laying techniques, effects of climate on masonry, construction inspection, and quality control. Masonry Level 2 is the second course in the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum for Masonry Apprenticeship.
Course Objectives
  1. learn new skills required of a second year Masonry Apprentice. Students will develop knowledge, skills and abilities related to the ability to read and understand residential construction drawings, installation of residential masonry products, methods for reinforcing brickwork and door and window openings in masonry, use of advanced brick laying techniques, the effect of climate on masonry, and how to inspect brick construction and institute quality control measures.

Requirements for Successful Completion of this Course
  1. Attendance 80% or above
  2. Participation
  3. Successfully completed all module exams with a minimum score of 70%
  4. Successfully completed all hands-on assessments
