Description
Learn how to "work smart" by cleaning properly and efficiently. This course will show you the fundamentals of residential and commercial cleaning – the best tools and chemicals, OSHA industry standards, and techniques for maintaining different floors and surfaces. The course includes practical training to give you the skills for entry-level employment in industry.
Course Objectives
  1. learn the proper way to use and store cleaning chemicals safely
  2. be able to identify different tools/equipment used to clean different work areas
  3. demonstrate how to clean different kinds of floors and understand the differences in flooring materials
  4. be able to operate floor caring equipment properly and be able to practice safety and employ ergonomics techniques
Outline of Instruction
  1. Blood Borne Pathogens and Preventing Infections
  2. MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets), OSHA Laws and Standards, and PPEs
  3. Hazardous Materials and Preventing Cross Contamination
  4. Cleaning Chemicals (Usage, Hazards, Proper Storage)
  5. Basics of Bathroom Cleaning and Infectious Control
  6. Floor Care (Sweeping, mopping, dusting, stripping, and finishing floors)
