Description
This course teaches students how to respond to disaster scenarios, including natural disasters and infrastructure failings, fires and radiological events, pandemics, active shooter incidents, and other mass casualty events. AHDR educates participants on how to analyze potential threats in their area, assess available resources, and create a response plan that will save lives.
Course Objectives
  1. Explain the basic principles and key concepts of disaster management.
  2. Examine the knowledge required for effective all-hazards disaster response.
  3. AHDR uses ICS and NIMS frameworks to contextualize disaster response.
  4. Describe a systems-based approach to disaster preparedness and response.
