Description
This course is for the Code Enforcement Official responsible for inspecting residential and small commercial mechanical installations in construction of up to 20,000 square feet. The course also provides homeowners, real estate professionals, and planners with an understanding of the North Carolina Mechanical Code and the Fuel Gas Code of the North Carolina State Building Code. For those pursuing a career as an inspector, this course satisfies one of the requirements for licensure by the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board.

Certification Learning Outcomes/Requirements
  1. Upon successful completion of this class and in conjunction with other requirements as set forth by the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board, students will be able to sit for the Mechanical Standard Level l exam.
  2. Upon successfully passing the State exam and by complying to the rules as stated in Section 11 NCAC 08.0706 of the North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board Regulations, a standard certificate will be issued.
