Description
This course introduces the basics of working in the electrical field and prepares students for entry-level employment in electrical contracting companies, at new construction sites and on remodeling and renovation projects. Topics will include an orientation to the electrical trade, electrical safety, the basics of electrical circuits, electrical theory, the use of device boxes, conduit bending, raceways and fittings, conductors and cables, residential electrical services, basic electrical construction drawing interpretation, and the National Electrical Code. Electrical Apprenticeship Level 1 is the first electrical course in the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum for Electrical Apprenticeship.
Course Objectives
  1. learn the basics of the Electrical Trade including an orientation to the electrical trade, electrical safety, the basics of electrical circuits, electrical theory, the use of device boxes, conduit bending, raceways and fittings, conductors and cables, residential electrical services, basic electrical construction drawing interpretation, and the National Electrical Code.
