Young Minds Get Creative at Wake Tech
College Hosts Early Childhood Arts Celebration
RALEIGH, N.C. (April 6, 2013) - Parents and children came to Wake Tech’s Main Campus today for an Early Childhood Sustainable Arts Celebration. The event was sponsored by PNC and held in conjunction with Wake Tech’s 50th anniversary. It included painting, crafts, story-telling and other fun activities designed to highlight the importance of art in children’s lives. Families were also treated to a unique opportunity to play musical instruments made out of recycled materials, courtesy of The Scrap Exchange in Durham. The goal was to engage the community while educating families about early childhood art education, and alternative art materials that are available through low-cost sustainable practices.
Wake Tech’s Early Childhood Education program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and offers degree, diploma and certificate options. http://earlychildhoodedu.waketech.edu
