Wake Tech Students Visit the Middle East
RALEIGH, N.C. (April 4, 2014) - Eight Wake Tech students spent eight days on the trip of a lifetime – exploring Doha, Qatar, in the Middle East! The students, including one who is visually impaired, traveled with a Wake Tech instructor and other students and instructors from William Peace University. The spring break excursion included classes at Qatar University as well as a museum visit, a cruise, and a camel ride!
“This trip was life-changing,” says Wake Tech instructor and tour organizer Jeff Myers. “We gained a true appreciation for that part of the world – the food, culture, and religion. International exchanges are a wonderful way to prepare students for success in a global economy.”
Wake Tech student Jade Turner agrees: “Going to Qatar was not only educational, but inspirational. Learning about the culture and the people of Qatar was an experience I will never forget.”
The college will take students to Puerto Rico in October and to Costa Rica in December. For more information on costs and how to register, visit http://www.waketech.edu/programs-courses/credit/travel-abroad or contact Jeff Myers at 919-795-9264 ([email protected]).
