Wake Tech Recognizes Students for Academic Excellence
Award Winners Honored At Ceremony
RALEIGH, N.C. (April 5, 2011) - Wake Technical Community College President Stephen Scott has announced the recipients of the 2011 Presidents Award for Excellence. These six students are being honored with the highest college achievement award presented to any student at Wake Technical Community College.
This years winners are: Steven Polglase, Applied Technologies Division; Jacquelyn Adcock, Business Technologies Division; MiShelle Devereaux, Computer and Engineering Technologies Division; Dale Prihoda, Mathematics and Sciences Division; Meghan Riley, Health Sciences Division; and Erin Holloway, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Division.
The annual Presidents Award for Excellence is presented to the single most outstanding student in each degree-awarding division. Winners are selected based on factors including achievement, attitude, motivation, participation inside and outside the classroom, contributions to benefit the program, and involvement in student organizations. Each student received an engraved plaque and their names are engraved on the colleges Presidents Award for Excellence trophy, which is displayed in the college trophy case.The students were recognized at a special honors ceremony and reception, with family and friends present. During the ceremony, MiShelle Devereaux was also recognized as this years Wake Tech representative at the NC Community College System Academic Excellence Awards on April 14.
