RALEIGH, N.C. (April 2, 2012) - Wake Technical Community College President Stephen Scott has announced the recipients of the 2012 President’s Award for Excellence. These six students are being honored with the highest college achievement award presented to any student at Wake Technical Community College.
This year’s winners are: Henry Andrews, Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; James Harrelson, Business Technologies Division; Tiana Hundley, Mathematics and Sciences Division; Bradford Ingersoll, Computer and Engineering Technologies Division; Michael Pearce, Applied Technologies Division; and Jaclyn Vecchione, Health Sciences Division.
The annual President’s Award for Excellence is presented to the single most outstanding student in each degree-awarding division. Winners are selected based on factors including achievement, attitude, motivation, participation inside and outside the classroom, contributions to benefit the program, and involvement in student organizations. Each student received an engraved plaque and their names are engraved on the college’s President’s Award for Excellence trophy, which is displayed in the college trophy case.
The students were recognized at a special honors ceremony and reception, with family and friends present.
