Business Leaders, Industry Professionals Lauded for their Expertise

RALEIGH, N.C. (October 24, 2013) - Wake Tech welcomed hundreds of industry professionals to the college tonight to celebrate their service at the annual Advisory Committee dinner. President Dr. Stephen Scott thanked members of 62 committees which help shape Wake Tech programs and ensure the relevance of course content and instruction. “You are family,” Dr. Scott told them. “You are the experts in your field that help keep our programs strong.”

North Carolina Secretary of Transportation Tony Tata was the guest speaker for the event. He talked about sharing Wake Tech’s commitment to helping put people back to work. “One of my top priorities,” he said, “is to leverage infrastructure to create jobs.”

The Advisory Committee for Computer Technology Integration – Data Storage and Virtualization was singled out for distinction as the Advisory Committee of the Year. Data Storage is a growing field with employment opportunities for graduates. The committee includes Matthew Zullo (faculty representative), John Arnone, John Ferry, Rob Griggs, Bob Nelson, Ed Rossetto and Bill Stamper.

Four other committees were recognized as Outstanding: Radiography/CT/MRI Technology, Electrical Systems Technology, and Early Childhood Education.
