Wake Tech Holds Annual Career Fair
RALEIGH, N.C. (Wednesday, April 6) - Students and alumni had the opportunity to explore careers and meet with prospective employers today during Wake Tech's 21st Annual Career Fair. The event at the college's Main Campus featured 89 employers representing career fields including Business Technologies, Computer & Engineering Technologies and Applied Technologies (trades). More than 450 students and graduates attended the Career Fair to learn about job opportunities, hand out resumes and network with company representatives.
"The Career Fair was a huge success," says Deb Hadley, Director of Job Placement and Cooperative Education. "We've received positive feedback from the employers about the event. They were impressed with our students and look forward to attending next year." Wake Tech assists students and alumni who are seeking employment in fields that align with the college's programs in business, health sciences, computers, engineering, and technical programs such as criminal justice, culinary, cosmetology, automotive, heating & air conditioning, and more. Wake Tech's goal is to meet the educational and training needs of its diverse community, and to provide a qualified workforce for area employers. Historically, more than 90% of Wake Tech graduates are employed within one year of graduation. Most stay in the Triangle area.
