RALEIGH, N.C. (July 5, 2017) - The Wake Tech Foundation has two new hires who – together – bring more than 40 years of experience to the leadership team. Roxanne Miller and Meg Stradling will greatly enhance Foundation efforts to find and manage resources in support of the Wake Tech mission.

Roxanne Miller, the Foundation’s new Director of Development, will oversee a comprehensive development program. She has worked in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector for 15 years; as development manager for the Poe Center for Health Education she led fundraising campaigns and cultivated public and private donor relationships; as program officer for the Davis Foundations she oversaw a $3 million grant awards program. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Maine and a nonprofit management certificate from Duke University. She is active in community groups and serves on the Education Committee of the Cary Chamber of Commerce.

“Wake Tech enhances the lives of thousands of people each year,” Miller says. “I look forward to working with community partners to increase opportunities for students, and to bolster the college as the vital social and economic resource.”

In her new role as Director of Finance, Meg Stradling will oversee all accounting and finance functions. She will work closely with the Foundation treasurer and investment committee to ensure accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders. She has more than 25 years of experience in Wake County, including five years at Triangle Family Services. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in 1992.

“I’m excited to be part of such a progressive educational institution – one that is integral to making our area one of the best places to live and work,” Stradling says. “I hope to facilitate improved financial operations and look forward to helping the Foundation find new ways to support Wake Tech and its mission.”

The Wake Tech Foundation manages an array of resources that include corporate investments, foundation grants, alumni and employee contributions, and financial and in-kind support from individuals and groups. These vital resources allow Wake Tech to continue providing top-quality, affordable education and training to the region. In 2015-16, the Foundation raised more than $450,000 for student scholarships, Fostering Bright Futures (for former foster youth), and other student-centered programming, as well as $3.4 million for instructional technology and program support.
