Nursing Graduates Ready to Enter the Workforce
RALEIGH, N.C. (December 10, 2009) - More nurses will soon be available to care for the sick in the Triangle area. Forty-six nursing students received their associate degrees at a pinning ceremony at Wake Technical Community College this afternoon. In addition to their pins, the graduates received long-stemmed red roses and recited the traditional Florence Nightingale pledge. They are now eligible to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) to become licensed as registered nurses. Most will stay and work in the Triangle area, filling the demand for nurses at hospitals, physician offices and nursing homes. More nursing students will graduate in May. Wake Tech has the largest associate degree nursing program in North Carolina. For more information, visit health.waketech.edu.
