    RALEIGH, N.C. (February 21, 2017) - John Deere heavy equipment dealers and vendors who work on John Deere equipment from across the Southeast joined students and faculty at a Wake Tech Open House on Tuesday, February 21. The annual event, showcasing the college’s John Deere Agriculture Technology program, was a huge success, with more than 250 attending.

    RALEIGH, N.C. (January 5, 2017) - Wake Tech Community College offers charging stations for electric vehicles – for students, faculty, staff, and the community – and will soon have two more! Duke Energy is providing funding for the two new stations, which will be located on the Main Campus in parking lot A.

    RALEIGH, N.C. (January 4, 2017) - Dr. Stephen Scott, president of Wake Tech Community College, is proud to announce 1,613 students made the President’s List or Dean’s List for the Fall 2016 semester.

    The 625 students who earned a place on the President’s List maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0. The 988 students who made the Dean’s List maintained a GPA of at least 3.5. Honor roll eligibility is based on a minimum of 12 credit hours of curriculum courses for the semester.

    RALEIGH, N.C. (December 5, 2016) - Local business leader Tommy Laakso has joined the board of directors of the Wake Tech Foundation. Laakso was selected for his community leadership and commitment to the mission of the college. 

    Laakso is Executive General Manager for Hendrick Cary Auto Mall in Cary, North Carolina. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance with a concentration in accounting from Appalachian State University. Laakso is a car enthusiast with a passion for the auto industry.
