The owner of The Educators, a child care facility and school up to the 10th grade in Pakistan, visited Main Campus tonight.     WILSON, N.C. (March 22, 2017) - North Carolina’s 58 community colleges show students the route to a better life – and play a vital role in regional and statewide economic development. That was the message at today’s “Prosperity Zone” press conference at Wilson Community College.     RALEIGH, N.C.  (March 20, 2017) - The Wake County Board of Commissioners has appropriated funds for new projects on several Wake Tech campuses. The FY 2017 Capital Improvement Plan totals $24.4 million dollars for these new projects as well as $1 million for the IT infrastructure required to expand online programs.
     
    This year’s budget includes funds for the following:
     
    $6.6 million for RTP-2, RTP Campus

    RALEIGH, N.C. (March 1, 2017) - Wake Tech students and community members can get free tax preparation and filing services at Wake Tech. The services are offered through the college’s partnership with the Single Stop program.

    Single Stop is a nonprofit program focused on reducing poverty and promoting economic mobility by connecting people to benefits and services with a coordinated, “one-stop shop” approach. Wake Tech is one of only four community colleges offering Single Stop. Tax preparation is one of the many services Single Stop provides.     RALEIGH, N.C. (February 17, 2017) - Men’s soccer at Wake Tech has a new leader – with a passion for success.  Athletic Director Barry Street announced today that Ted Awana takes over as head coach for the men's soccer program.

    "Ted not only has the experience we need," Street said, "but a proven chemistry with athletes and staff! He has already demonstrated the leadership that will make this transition smooth and our upcoming season a winning one."
